Phil Matier: Support For Brown's Budget Not Guaranteed

(KCBS) - A majority of California voters agree with Governor Jerry Brown's approach to the budget, according to a new poll by the Public Policy Institute of California.

Two-thirds of the 1,365 respondents support a special election to extend tax and fee increases to close the deficit, and 58 percent support his budget plan.

The KCBS and Chronicle Insider says the governor must still show the voters that Sacramento is ready to address the deficit responsibly.
