Construction Worker Struck, Killed By ACE Train Near Tracy Station

TRACY (CBS SF/BCN) -- A San Jose-bound Altamont Corridor Express train struck and killed a construction worker Wednesday morning in Tracy.

ACE officials reported shortly after 7:20 a.m. that train 05 from Stockton to San Jose stopped just before the Tracy station as a result of the collision the agency originally characterized as a "trespasser incident."

According to Tracy police, the train hit a construction company vehicle that was doing work on Linne Road between MacArthur Drive and Tracy Boulevard.

Authorities said the individual killed has not yet been identified.

After approximately two hours, ACE 05, the train involved in the collision, was released from the scene and has continued toward destination in San Jose.

ACE will continue running full service Wednesday evening with three trains running from San Jose to Stockton.
