Pedestrian Critically Hurt In San Francisco Crash
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A pedestrian was critically injured in a collision in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, police said Tuesday.
The accident was reported at 3:31 p.m. Saturday at Fifth and Howard streets.
The victim, a 54-year-old woman, was walking south on Fifth Street in the crosswalk when the driver of a black SUV made a left turn from Howard Street and struck her, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with head injuries that are considered life-threatening, police said.
The driver, a 60-year-old man, stayed at the scene after the collision and cooperated with investigators. He was not arrested, police said.
