Non-Profit Planting Lemon Trees In San Francisco's Tenderloin
SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- A non-profit will plant dozens of lemon trees in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood as part of a broader push for self-sufficiency.
Organize estimate the city needs at least 12,000 lemon trees are needed to meet yearly demand in the city.
A group called 'Just One Tree' plans to put in many more, and register existing lemon trees that have never been counted.
The group plans to plant 50 trees in the Tenderloin with help from a donation by Cole Hardware.
