Montana Pastor Gives One Minute Sermon To Catch Niner Game

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Sunday's Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers game left a Butte, Montana pastor with a serious scheduling conflict, but he quickly made his intentions clear to the congregation.

Gold Hill Lutheran Church pastor Tim Christensen said in the video that he had planned a full sermon on "wine and servanthood" for his 11 a.m. Mountain time service, just minutes before kickoff. Instead, he simply offered the wine to the congregation and wrapped up his appearance in less than a minute, according to a video posted on YouTube.

Christensen signed off from his sermon by kissing his biceps or "Kapernicking" as it is known thanks to antics by 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He then opened his shirt – in the style of Carolina Quarterback Cam Newton's touchdown celebration – revealing a 49ers logo on his undershirt and yelled "I'm outa here."

The clip, published Sunday, had been viewed nearly 13,000 times as of noon Monday.

The move was apparently just a joke, and Christensen went on to give his full sermon.
