Mary Ellen Trainor, 'Goonies' Mother & 'Lethal Weapon' Actress Dies at 62

MONTECITO, CA (CBS SF) - The ex-wife of "Back To The Future" director Robert Zemekis, Mary Ann Trainor passed away at her home in Montecito, California, near Santa Barbara. She was 62.

Trainor's lifelong friend and Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that Trainor died on May 20th of complications from pancreatic cancer.

The San Francisco-born Trainor was best known as Sean Astin and Josh Brolin's mother in The Goonies and as Dr. Stephanie Woods, the psychologist that Martin Riggs' (Mel Gibson) drove crazy in all four Lethal Weapon movies. She also appeared in Die Hard, Ghostbusters II, Congo and Forrest Gump.

She is survived by her mother Jane, her son Alex, her two brothers and two sisters.
