Man Pulls DUI Suspect From Burning Car In Cupertino
CUPERTINO (CBS SF) -- A Good Samaritan is being credited with saving a life Thursday after pulling an allegedly inebriated man from a burning car in Cupertino.
Aram Harutyunyan was on his way to lunch when he saw the black smoke coming from the car.
Then he noticed someone was inside the vehicle and ran up to help.
The man in the car was unconscious, so Harutyunyan pulled him to safety.
The Santa Clara Sherriff's Department told KPIX 5 the person pulled from the vehicle was suspected of driving under the influence and accidentally set the car on fire.
Authorities said Harutyunyan likely saved the driver's life.
There was no word Thursday on the identity of the man who was saved or what charges he might be facing.
