Man Cleaning Handgun Accidentally Shoots Neighbor In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was accidentally shot in the leg near San Francisco State University on Wednesday night when his neighbor was cleaning his gun and didn't realize there was a bullet in the chamber, police said.
The gun owner, a 24-year-old man, was cleaning a handgun around 10:30 p.m. in his home in the 300 block of Serrano Drive when the gun fired, police said.
The bullet went through the floor and struck a 63-year-old man downstairs in the leg. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, according to police.
