Gilroy Man Airlifted After Group-Assault

GILROY (BCN) - Gilroy police are investigating a possibly gang-related assault Friday night involving seven to 10 people in the 400 block of East 8th Street.

By the time officers arrived, the group had dispersed, but they located the victim sitting in a nearby driveway.

He told the officers a group of about 10 people had assaulted him with several different weapons, according to police.

The victim was airlifted to a trauma center with blunt force trauma injuries, including a stab wound, a serious head injury and complaint of pain in his upper torso.

He was considered to be in serious, but stable condition, police said.
