75-Acre Holland Fire Near Knightsen 90-95% Contained; Evacuation Order Lifted

KNIGHTSEN (CBS SF) -- The Holland Fire burning east of Oakley in unincorporated Contra Costa County was almost fully contained Monday evening, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

The fire was 90 to 95 percent contained as of 11 p.m. Evacuations were lifted around 8 p.m. for residents along Holland Tract Road, near the Brentwood Marina and along Delta Road, according to ECCFP.

The fire was first reported at around 2:15 p.m. and brought all three of the district's engines to the location. Initially, the blaze was about five acres, burning in open vegetation, but by 6 p.m., it spread to 40 acres. All off-duty ECCFPD personnel were recalled to return to work. Cal Fire also provided assistance with the SCU chopper providing air support.

As of about 7:30 p.m, the blaze had charred about 75 acres. Support units were responding from San Ramon, Moraga, Concord and Antioch.

Update: 3:42 the Holland Tract fire is wind driven and has grown to over 20 acres. A type 3 strike team (5, 4x4 fire engines) are responding from, San Ramon, Moraga, Concord, and Antioch. A recall has been sent out to off duty ECCFPD personnel to return to work. Below is a video of fire conditions.

No structures were damaged and no injuries have been reported.
