Disneyland Reveals New Look To Frontierland

ANAHEIM, CA (CBS SF) – Renovation to the Disneyland Resort has begun to make room for the upcoming Star Wars Land. Walt Disney Imagineering has released an artist rendering of how neighboring FrontierLand and Rivers of America area will look after the refurbishments are complete. (view larger image)

Expect to see a new FrontierLand riverbank, an elevated trestle where the Disneyland Railroad will pass through, and an all-new Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island. Rumor has it treasure can be found throughout.

Star Wars Land will take-up 14-acres of what is now Mickey's Toon Town and outward. According to the LA Times, groundbreaking began over the weekend with several attractions and eatery closures around the Big Thunder Ranch area including Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree.

No word yet as to when "Star Wars Land" is set to open.
