Costco Switches From AmEx To Visa

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Costco officially switches from American Express to Citi Visa on Monday.

The move ends a 16-year-long relationship between the membership-based wholesale retailer and American Express.

Visa is now the only credit card accepted at Costco stores. American Express cards will no longer work at the checkout counters. The cash-back rewards and other perks associated with AmEx will automatically transfer over to Visa accounts.

Customers can also use MasterCard debit cards to purchase goods.
