Convicted Felon Arrested On Weapons Charges In Petaluma
PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- Police in Petaluma arrested a convicted felon Monday morning on several weapons charges after finding an assault rifle, ammunition and large capacity magazines at her home, according to authorities.
Police said they contacted 48-year-old Denise Meisinger at about 5:40 a.m. Monday while investigating a non-criminal matter.
Officers determined that Meisinger was a convicted felon and a prohibited from possessing firearms. A records check showed that Meisinger had firearms registered to her.
Meisinger admitted possessing the firearms and provided officers with their location. At her residence, officers found an AK-47 assault rifle and a TEC-9 semi-automatic pistol as well as ammunition and high capacity magazines inside the residence.
Meisinger was booked into Sonoma County Jail on charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of large-capacity magazines.
