Name The Newest Baby Penguins At California Academy Of Sciences In SF

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – If you love contests and you love penguins, don't miss out on a chance to name two of the latest additions to San Francisco's California Academy of Sciences.

Three new chicks have joined the African penguin exhibit. The trio includes Marcus, a male who hatched in December, and 2 others, a male and a female, who hatched last November.

All three have spent the past months learning to swim and eat fish. Now they are finally ready to join the 14 adult birds in the Academy's colony.

The November brood still needs names. The Academy enlisted several local museums to come up with a list and is asking the public to vote for them online at www.calacademy.org/name-a-penguin.

There are 6 names to choose from -- Bert, Bufano and Ebb for the male; Nori, Pina and Stella for the female.

Voting will run for 2 weeks, and the winning names will be announced March 25.
