SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The famed Cirque du Soleil has resumed its regular performance schedule after a tragic accident stunned members, fans and friends of the Montreal-base circus act.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the company said the "cast and crew will resume its regular performance schedule December 6 at 8 p.m. under the Big Top at AT&T Park."
"Cirque du Soleil wishes to thank fans, friends, family members, the San Francisco community and the entire Cirque du Soleil family from around the world for their love and support through these difficult times," the statement said.
The message of thanks comes a week after the son of one of the founders, Olivier Rochette was killed in an accident on the set of the group's Luzia show in a tent at AT&T Park. According to the company, Rochette was struck by a telescopic lift on November 29 and died of his injuries.
Shows were cancelled as the company mourned his loss.
