CHP Officer Accused Of Stealing DUI Suspects' Nude Photos Charged With 2 Felonies

MARTINEZ (KCBS)— A CHP officer has been charged on Friday in Contra Costa Superior Court with two felonies for allegedly forwarding himself sexually explicit photos from phones owned by female DUI suspects.

35-year-old Sean Harrington, who was based in the CHP's Dublin office, is charged with two counts of computer theft and faces up to 44 months in prison.

Harrington has told investigators that the photo sharing is a "game" amongst officers and he learned of it while working in the CHP's Los Angeles office and the game continued into the Dublin office where he most recently worked.

He allegedly said he's been doing this for years on more than a half dozen occasions.

Harrington had been pulled from duty and was barred from returning to work. A second officer connected to the incidents is expected to turn himself in on Monday.
