Crucified 'Cheetos Jesus' Parody On SF Muni Bus Stop Raises Eyebrows, Ire

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A San Francisco Muni bus stop "advertisement" in the Mission District depicts Chester Cheetah as Jesus, drawn hanging from a rough sketch of a cross with the words, "He Died For Our Snacks."

While the image could be viewed as a case of viral marketing taken too far, it appears the 18th and Mission sight is a "parody" -- with art students suspected by most as the likely culprits.

The photo is getting voted up on Reddit and is drawing plenty of comments on social photo site Imgur where it's already had 24,000 views in two days, along with plenty of tweets.

Reddit commenters are having a field day with puns like "that's snack-religious" and "Cheesus Christ," giving Frito-Lay plenty of publicity. The parent company of Cheetos confirmed that they did not create the image, but would not offer any further comment on the viral nature of the "art."
