CBS 5 Poll: Oaklanders Unhappy With Mayor Quan, Handling Of Protests
OAKLAND (CBS 5) -- Oakland voters appeared unhappy Wednesday night with Mayor Jean Quan on two fronts - her overall job performance and her handling of the Occupy Oakland protests - according to a newly released KPIX-TV CBS 5 poll.

The poll, conducted Wednesday for CBS 5 by the firm SurveyUSA, showed 72% disapproved of her handling of the protests, which resulted in a violent clash with police on Tuesday evening.
In addition, the poll results showed 56% felt the police response was too harsh, while just 30% said the police response had been about right.
As for Quan, the CBS 5 poll found her approval rating is now a dismal 20% -- with 64% of Oaklanders disapproving of the job she is doing.

By way of comparison, her approval rating was 28% in the last CBS 5 poll conducted on Oct 12; disapproval at that time stood at 53%.
The poll of up to 650 Oakland adults has a margin of error ranging from 3.8 to 4.4%, according to the pollster.
