OAKLAND (CBS 5) -- Oakland Mayor Jean Quan's job performance just 100 days into office garners the approval of the city's residents by a 2-1 margin, according to the results of a KPIX-TV CBS 5 poll released Tuesday.
The poll found Quan has strikingly broad support in her job to date governing and leading Oakland.
In addition to having an overall approval rating of 57%, she has the support of a majority in every demographic group -- men, women, young, old, white, non-white, rich, poor, Republican, Democrat, educated, un-educated, conservative, and liberal.
The results led researchers for SurveyUSA, which conducted the poll on behalf of CBS 5, to note: "Rarely does the glow of a new office-holder's honeymoon extend to every constituency, but in Oakland in 2011, it does."
Pollsters surveyed 500 Oakland residents on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the poll results have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4%.
