The driver fled on foot after the car came to rest inside the dining room of Stuft Pizza around 1 a.m. Saturday but he was caught a few blocks away near his residence and was charged with hit-and-run and driving under the influence.

It took crews at least 30 minutes to turn off the water, police said.
