DALY CITY (CBS SF) -- A bus carrying employees of Netflix caught fire along Northbound Interstate 280 near Daly City Wednesday evening, prompting a severe traffic alert.
Cellphone video from the scene shows the front of the Netflix bus engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke.
"We started to smell smoke and so we pulled over, got off the shuttle. There was more smoke and then there was a pop and then there was fire," Netflix employee Michael Spiegelman told KPIX 5.
Netflix sent another bus to retrieve the employees from the scene.
According to authorities, the right two lanes of I-280 near Hickey Boulevard were blocked because of the emergency response. The Westborough Blvd onramp to Northbound I-280 was also blocked. All lanes reopened around 9:30 p.m.
