Bruce Springsteen Cancels North Carolina Show To Protest Anti-LGBT Law

By Brian Ives

(RADIO.COM) – Bruce Springsteen just announced via his Facebook page that he has cancelled his concert in Greensboro, North Carolina this Sunday (April 10), as his way of protesting HB2, otherwise known as the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act, which dictates which bathrooms transgender people are permitted to use. Also, as Springsteen says in the note, "The law also attacks the rights of LGBT citizens to sue when their human rights are violated in the workplace."

Noting that many organizations and businesses have been protesting the law, Springsteen said he wanted to add his voice. "With deepest apologies to our dedicated fans in Greensboro, we have canceled our show scheduled for Sunday, April 10th."
