Broken Gas Line In San Jose Neighborhood Is Capped

SAN JOSE (KCBS) — Residents were told to shelter in place in a San Jose neighborhood where a broken gas line was reported Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The two-inch line was ruptured at construction site near Hostetter Road and Frost Drive in the Berryessa neighborhood at about 8:15 a.m.

Authorities said construction crew working on the BART San Jose extension caused the leak. A spokesman for the contractor on site told KCBS that the line was capped at about 9 a.m.

There were no reported injures.
