Batkid, Make-A-Wish Report Good Health A Year After SF Heroics

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A year ago Saturday, the City of San Francisco transformed into Gotham City to give 5-year-old leukemia patient Miles Scott a chance to fulfill his dream of fighting crime alongside Batman. A year later, San Francisco is back to normal and Miles is doing better than ever.

Our sister station in Sacramento checked in on Scott and found he's in remission and has even lost a tooth since we last saw him. He's back at school in Tulelake, and living life like a normal boy.

Meanwhile, the Bay Area chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which organized the event, reports a 45 percent increase in granting wishes and a national record of 14,247 wishes granted. But they say they need more to help children like miles (donate here).

Miles and his family are expected to mark the anniversary in San Francisco. Form more on what they are saying about Miles' progress, read the CBS Sacramento report.
