Baby Bengal Tiger Cubs Frolicking With Pumpkins At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom In Vallejo
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- The population of Vallejo just grew by two, if you're counting tigers, with the introduction of Bengal tiger cubs Kismet and Faruk Tuesday at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
The cubs can now be seen by the public at Odin's Temple of the Tiger outdoor exhibit.
As appropriate for the first week of fall, they're playing with pumpkins.
The three-month old cubs -- a boy and girl -- were transferred from Florida where they were hand-raised and bottle-fed by veterinary staff.
There are only 2500 wild Bengals left, and the species, Panthera tigris tigris is considered critically endangered due to poaching and killings when the tigers meet humans.
They're native to India, and Southeast Asia.
When Kismet, the female, and Faruk, the male are fully grown, they'll weigh anywhere from 250-350 pounds for a female, and 350 to 450 pounds for the males.
