4.1 Magnitude Quake Rattles South Bay Near Soledad

SOLEDAD (CBS SF) -- A 4.1 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter just north of Pinnacles National Park rattled the South Bay Sunday afternoon, but there were no reports of any damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake in the seismically active region struck at about 1:51 p.m. and was felt as far away as the Monterey Peninsula and Santa Cruz.

The temblor struck along the San Andreas Fault system and was felt the strongest in nearby Soledad and Hollister.
