SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — As the July heat kicked in, the stories readers clicked on most took on a strange tone. More than 1,000 guns, 6.5 tons of ammunition and a car that could drive underwater were found inside a man's home. An inmate was found cut nearly in two with his organs missing.

Though the drought wasn't as prevalent in the Top 10 stories, it still held a strong position this month.

10. California State Fair Ends With Reported Violence For Second Time In Three Years

Instead of family fun, the videos posted online show fists flying in what appears to be a series of violent clashes between fairgoers on the final night of the fair.

9. 'Porn' And 'Lonely' Among Top Late Night Google Searches In US

Google data analysis suggests that "porn" and "suicide" searches dominate late night online inquiries, while searches for free video games and other anonymous searches flow throughout the day.

8. Central California Woman, 21, Dies From Brain-Eating Amoeba

The 21-year-old was a Bishop residnt. Inyo County public health officials say she woke up from a nap on June 16 with a headache and was soon vomiting. When the symptoms wouldn't go away after a day, she was taken to the ER at Northern Inyo Hospital.

7. Oakland Raiders QB Ken Stabler, 69, Dies From Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Stabler played 15 seasons in the NFL, including starting most of the games for the 1970s Oakland Raiders, including a win in Super Bowl XI.

6. Inmate At Solano Prison Was Cut Nearly In Two, Organs Missing

Nearly 15 hours after a riot at a Northern California prison, guards found a missing inmate sawed nearly in two, with his abdominal organs and most chest organs removed, his body folded and stuffed into a garbage can in a shower stall a few doors from his cell.

5Reddit updates posting rules to discourage harassment

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman announced the site's new harassment policy in the form of an AMA (Ask Me Anything). Users, called Redditors, will be given time to offer input before the new policies are finalized.

4. Elk Grove Store Takes Down Confederate Flag, Citing Alleged Death Threats

The sign at Wild Bill's said in all caps: WE CAN NO LONGER FLY OUR CONFEDERATE FLAG DUE TO THE SO CALLED "TOLERANT" LIBERALS THREATENING THE STAFF AND THIS BUILDING.

Before visiting Tulare County, a place where wells have gone dry and some people are living in third-world conditions, we went to a place deep in the Mojave Desert that offers a dire warning of what can happen when the water runs out.

2. Google Photos Identifies Two Black Users As 'Gorillas'

The Google Photos image recognition software is intended to identify a photo and automatically file photos into groups with similar images – a photo of a tree would automatically be placed in a folder filled with other photos of trees.

But the software showed a glitch Sunday, prompting Google to apologize for placing the black friends into an automatically generated "gorillas" folder.

1. Mystery Man Found Decomposing In Car Had More Than 1,200 Guns, Cash, Underwater Car

Inside his home, detectives discovered more than 1,200 guns, scopes, 6.5 tons of ammunition, bows and arrows, knives, machetes and $230,000 in cash. They also found eight of the 14 vehicles registered to the man stashed across Los Angeles, including a Toyota SUV designed to drive underwater.
