Woman Taken Off Life Support After Concord Fire
CONCORD (AP) — Authorities say a Concord woman has been taken off life support after she was injured during a fire in her apartment earlier this week.
The Contra Costa Times reports that Elise English was taken off life support Wednesday morning.
Contra Costa Fire Marshal Lewis Broschard told the newspaper that the 34-year-old English had been hospitalized since Monday when firefighters responded to a fire at her apartment.
Broschard says when firefighters entered her apartment unit they found her unconscious and not breathing.
The blaze, which is under investigation, consumed English's apartment and the roof.
