Vacaville Will Pay $1.3 Million To Family Of Mentally Ill Man Killed By Cops
VACAVILLE (CBS13) — The city of Vacaville will pay $1.3 million to the family of a mentally ill man killed in an officer-involved shooting.
Kendall Walker, 24, was shot after a slow-speed chase in July 2013. Officers say after he was stopped, Walker came at them carrying a hammer and a knife, refusing to stop.
His family says the officers knew about his illness. His mother says she wants the officers trained to handle those who may be mentally unstable.
