Two Bodies Found In Water Behind Stockton Golf Course
STOCKTON, Calif. (CBS13) -- Two men have been detained and questioned by police after the bodies of two men were found drowned in a Stockton slough next to a golf course.
All four men reportedly swam across the slough behind the Van Buskirk Municipal Golf Course just after noon, but only two made it across.
Officers who were investigating a nearby home burglary rushed to the scene but were unable to rescue the two men. Divers pulled the two victims from the frigid water Wednesday afternoon.
Police are investigating whether the four men had anything to do with the nearby crime in the Weston Ranch neighborhood.
"Whether or not these four, the two dead and the other subjects, were involved in the burglary is unknown at this point, but that is certainly an aspect we're looking at.
The identities of the victims and detained subjects have not been released.
