Truck Loaded With Cocaine Entered U.S. From Mexico 16 Times

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - Federal authorities say they've busted four men in Virginia with nearly 120 pounds of cocaine and possibly as much as $1 million in cash.

Prosecutors said Friday that the drugs came to Newport News on a tractor trailer with California plates. Court records said the truck crossed the Mexico border 16 times in the last six months. The cash and cocaine were allegedly stored inside a trap welded beneath the floor boards.

The suspects face charges of conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. They were scheduled to make their initial court appearances in court on Friday afternoon.

The suspects are 49-year-old Marvin O'Neal Carter of Newport News, 49-year-old Daniel Rodriguez of California, 50-year-old Hilario Rodriguez of California and 42-year-old Michael Stephen Kuna of Canada.
