Thieves Steal Family's Gifts In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A family's home was ransacked by thieves just before Christmas, leaving torn wrapping paper where expensive gifts once rested.
The family, who asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation, said they went back home after their final Christmas shopping trip and found the doors on their South Sacramento home left ajar.
When they entered the home, they saw all of their presents had been unwrapped and stolen.
"I feel really sad, I mean its one thing to steal mine and my boyfriend's stuff, but they stole my daughter's presents," a victim said. "There were games, we had a PlayStation 3… there was a bunch of toys for my daughter."
The thieves also cleaned out the home's dressers, leaving with clothes, shoes and even underwear.
Much of what was left behind was smashed and broken.
Police lifted fingerprints from the scene and found a crowbar they hope to trace back to the suspects. No arrests have been made.
