The Grant Napear Show - April 20, 2012

Today on the Grant Napear Show, Grant talked about Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's visit to George Maloof at the Palms in Las Vegas. He also discussed the 49ers new stadium and the prices for tickets and personal seat licenses. Grant took calls about people's feelings on Mayor Johnson's meeting with George Maloof, as well as what people thought about the ticket prices the San Francisco 49ers were charging for their brand new stadium in Santa Clara. Grant interviewed Dale Kesler.

Dale Kesler from the Sacramento Bee broke the story about Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson going to Las Vegas to meet with George Maloof. Dale said that no deal will be made with this talk, but clearing the air at this point will help. He also said that their conversation at this point can't make anything worse.

Grant asked if any deal would be struck that would be on track to satisfy Sacramento. Dale said that at this point the city isn't in the mood to negotiate, and that city council will not accept any new deal at this point. Grant also asked if Dale was surprised at how nasty things have gotten between Sacramento and the Maloofs. Dale said that he wasn't surprised because this is how things are when negotiations involve so many different people being brought in on both sides.

Dale said that at this point nobody knows what will come out of the meeting between Mayor Johnson and George Maloof. He said that they're, at this point, talking just to talk. Dale said that the two sides need each other more than the other wants to admit. He said that the city helps the Kings, and the Kings help the city. Dale said that the city of Anaheim won't provide a bond with the Kings like Sacramento has.
