Temperatures Cooling Over The Weekend

Breezy conditions kept temperatures very mild across the valley overnight, and it won't take long for things to heat up today.

A ridge of high pressure over northern California will keep skies mostly sunny, but gusty winds riding over that ridge will boost winds to 15-25 mph out of the north today, gusting up to 35 mph at times.

Peak winds will arrive late Friday morning into the early afternoon hours. The dry and windy conditions combined with relative humidity levels between 7-14 percent has prompted a Red Flag Warning for an increased fire threat, from the Sacramento area north to Redding, until 5 p.m. Friday evening.

The rest of the weekend won't be quite as hot or breezy. Saturday will be sunny with highs in the mid-to-upper-80s. Father's Day on Sunday looks great for a day with dad outside. We'll see sunshine and high temps right around the seasonal normal of 86 degrees.
