Sunny But Breezy Weather Expected To Continue Sunday; 70s Return Next Week

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - It was a windy Saturday afternoon in the Central Valley with several locations seeing gusts of more than 30 miles an hour.

Gusts reached 32 mph at Sacramento Executive Airport, according to the National Weather Service, 32 also in Stockton and 35 in Marysville. Gusts reached 57 mph in the high Sierra over Donner Peak.

Expect breezy conditions Saturday evening and persisting into Sunday, with gusts up to 20 mph possible in the valley.

A low pressure system sinking into Nevada and Arizona is responsible for the wind. As it pulls away from the state, the winds will start to relax.

High pressure will build into Northern California as we start next week. This will mean sunny skies and calm conditions throughout the week. Temperatures under the ridge will warm. Expect highs in the low 70s for Sacramento by the end of the week.

With no cloud cover, nights will still be cold, with overnight lows in the high 30s or low 40s.
