Search On For Suspect Who Killed Two Sacramento Brothers In Hit-And-Run

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Two brothers were hit and killed on a south Sacramento street, and police have not yet found the driver.

That hit-and-run crash happened at 24th Street near Meadowview Road. The brothers may have been in the roadway when both were struck, and the family wants to know who left them to die.

"This is not fair. They were loving people; they bothered no one," said Andrea Richard.

Not fair, but fact, Andrea's husband Mark and his brother Eddie are gone. The siblings were struck and killed in a bizarre hit-and-run crash.

"He was a great, a great husband, devoted," said Andrea.

Hours after Mark's birthday early last Friday morning, family members say Mark was giving his big brother Eddie a ride home. Then, for some reason, they pulled over and got out of the car. That's when the driver of a white pickup truck struck both brothers in the road, taking both their lives, and then speeding off.

"He was supposed to come back home, that's all I know," said Andrea.

The family insists they don't have any clue if the brothers had gotten into an argument, which witnesses reported before the crash, but say it makes no difference.

"He was a loving dad; he would always try to help out whenever," said Marcus Richard.

Eddie's son Marcus says his father had just moved back from Nevada to be closer to family.

"I just don't see how someone can run over two people and just keep going," said Marcus.

"This person doesn't know he left behind wives, children, brothers and sisters," said Andrea.

It's a double tragedy after two brothers reconnecting in the same city were taken by the same driver.

"Own up to what you did, because my children deserve this peace and I do too," said Andrea.

Police are searching for a late model white Chevy Silverado with a Z71 emblem on the side.
