Sacramento Man Arrested For 2009 Kidnap And Rape In Davis

DAVIS (CBS13) – Davis Police officers have arrested a Sacramento man in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a Davis woman back in 2009.

On Thursday, police arrested 28-year-old Leonardo Avalos after a year-long investigation.  Avalos is kidnapping and raping a 21-year-old woman back on February 6, 2009. 

Police say Avalos met the victim at a Davis bar and drove the woman back to her apartment.  When she refused to have sex, he offered to drive her back to her friends at the bar.  Instead, he drove her to the outskirts of Davis, raped and sexually assaulted her before driving her back home.

Avalos is being held in the Yolo County Jail on $150,000 bail on charges including forcible rape, oral copulation and kidnapping.
