Roseville Tree Topples Over On House, Knocks Out Area Power

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - The weekend's wild winds are throwing around leaves and branches and leaving lots to clean up.

In one Roseville neighborhood a tree came crashing down onto a nearby home.

"A thunderous huge bang, I thought we went to war," said Theresa Heart.

"It sounded like all the doors were broken into at once. It shook the whole house," said Tom Heart.

Wind gusts in their Roseville neighborhood peaked at 40 miles per hour.

"There is holes in the roof," said Tom.

The tree also landed on their patio furniture.

"It took out my barbeque, it buried my bicycle. Our lawn mover is gone, so we don't know what we are going to do now," said Theresa.

The couple says they are grateful no one was injured.

"I am thankful we are still alive," said Theresa. "It could have been a lot worse and I am thankful I said my prayers last night before we went to sleep."

Power was knocked out for several homes in the area.

Their entire neighborhood on Fern Street had a lot of blown debris.

Neighbors were hard at work Sunday cleaning up the aftermath.

As far as what to do in the future, Tom has some advice for those who also have large trees.

"Trim it. Right now there is a lot of blossoms and blooms, and that creates a lot of weight," said Tom.

The Hearts contacted their landlord and are awaiting the tree to be removed from the property.
