Rocklin High Pitcher Logan Webb Signs With San Francisco Giants

ROCKLIN (CBS13) — A pitcher from Rocklin High School has chosen professional ball over college baseball by signing with the San Francisco Giants.

Logan Webb signed with the team, accepting a $600,000 bonus that was well over the $440,600 designated by Major League Baseball for where he was drafted.

Webb was selected 118th by the Giants in the fourth round of last month's MLB Draft.

When we spoke to him just after he was drafted, Webb wasn't sure which way he was leaning. He already committed to Cal Poly, a team that had recently knocked Sacramento State out of the College World Series.

Logan's parents say he's dreamed of playing in the big leagues since he was 2 years old.

It wasn't until just four weeks before the draft when Webb's fastball was clocked in the upper-90s that dozens of scouts started taking notice.
