Rock Racers Raising Money For Woman Severely Injured In Crash
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - Racers at the Nor Cal Rock Racing event in Rancho Cordova drove their vehicles over big boulders on Saturday, but it wasn't all about the adrenaline rush.
Drivers and fans raised money for 21-year-old Rachel Gray who was rock crawling in the El Dorado National Forest when her jeep rolled off a cliff and caught fire. Rachel suffered third-degree burns, broken bones and had her leg amputated.
"She's at UC Davis burn unit, so what we're doing today is a huge raffle to help support the cause," said John Goodby, owner of Nor Cal Rock Racing.
Rachel's friends have also started the Rage Foundation, which is raising money to pay her medical bills.
