Reward Offered To Find Woman Accused Of Assaulting Delta College Professor

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Police are searching for a suspect who attacked a professor inside a San Joaquin Delta College bathroom.

Students are away on spring break, but one professor is on their minds. Two weeks ago, a female professor was attacked and robbed inside the women's bathroom at Holt Center.

"My mom also attends here," said student Giovanni Fernandez. "So to hear that it was an older woman attacked in one of her most vulnerable states, in front of a bathroom, it's scary, because it could have been my mom or any other student that I know."

Students and police are wondering who is the woman seen on surveillance video the professor identified as her attacker. The suspect was already inside the bathroom when the professor walked in. When the professor walked into the stall, the suspect pushed her from behind, into the wall.

"The push kind of launched her into the wall," said Delta College police Sgt. Jim Brock. "She was already compromised - she was walking with a cane from a previous injury. We're hearing she has some possibly long-term damage, post concussive."

The suspect robbed her of her jewelry before running out, but she was already caught on camera. But even with the good picture, police haven't arrested her yet.

Delta College hopes offering a $1,000 reward will motivate someone to come forward with information leading to an arrest.
