Suspect Shot, Killed By Officer In North Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police shot and killed a reportedly armed suspect on a North Sacramento-area street Monday morning.

The scene was near Edgewater Road and Del Paso Boulevard.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, witnesses reported seeing the suspect waving a knife over his head. They also reported that the suspect had a gun.

Officers shot the man during the confrontation. Police later said the suspect had died from his injuries.

One officer suffered minor injuries in the confrontation.

Officers reported that the suspect was acting erratically leading up to the shooting. He has only been identified as a man in his 50s or 60s.

Del Paso Boulevard is shut down from Southgate Road to Arden Way for the investigation.
