Police Find Bodies After Warning Letter To Newspaper

LOGAN, Utah (AP) - Police say two people were found dead in a home after the local newspaper got a letter to the editor about a possible tragedy.

The Logan Herald Journal reports (http://bit.ly/21n3Pfp) that editors called Friday police after receiving the handwritten letter dated March 8. It said a "tragedy" was about to happen or may have already occurred.

Logan police chief Gary Jensen says officers found the bodies while doing a welfare check at the home after The Herald Journal reported the odd letter.

Police say they aren't looking for any additional suspects.

After they entered the home, they were able to confirm both the man and his wife were deceased.

Although the letter did not say what the "tragedy" was, a closing sentence stated "I took my wife ... with me because her advancing Parkinson's was robbing her of her mental faculties and filling her life with frustration and despair."
