Suspect Held In San Francisco Slayings Served Prison Time

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The suspect in the slayings of five people in a San Francisco home served nearly a decade in prison for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

State records show 35-year-old Binh Thai Luc was convicted in 1998 in Santa Clara County.

He was in prison from 1998 to 2006 and served two years of parole before being released from state custody in 2008.

Police on Sunday booked Luc on five counts of murder. His arrest was a surprise twist in the case that authorities initially said was a possible murder-suicide.

Police said the bodies of three women and two men were found on Friday. Their identities and other details have not yet been released.
