Placer County Sheriff's Office Seeks Suspect In Reported Rape

COLFAX (CBS13) - The Placer County Sheriff's Office is looking for a young man in connection with a reported rape near the Colfax Ball Park earlier this week.

The female victim told deputies that she was walking near the intersection of Rising Sun and Ben Taylor roads just after 2 a.m. Sunday when a young man wearing "skater-type" clothing pulled up alongside her in a newer silver Honda Accord or Civic and whistled at her.

She reportedly turned and walked up a driveway at the rear of the Colfax Ball Park. The woman said the man then pulled his vehicle in front of her, got out, pushed her to the ground and then sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as white, with wavy blond hair and long sideburns. He is in his late teens or early 20s. He is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. His clothing was black.

Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to contact Detective Rick Harroun at (530) 889-7849. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest can call Placer County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-923-8191.
