Orphaned Bear Cub In Lake Tahoe Area Rescued

An orphaned bear is being looked after at a Nevada animal sanctuary after he was seen wandering on his own for over a week in the Lake Tahoe area.

"Bridger", as he's called by those who found him, had been seen on his own for 10 days. His sister had been hit and killed by a car a couple of weeks earlier, which is around the same time his mother went missing, according to "Mr. Truckee" via a post shared on the BEAR League's Facebook page.

BEAR League volunteers and a biologist with the Nevada Dept. of Wildlife are credited with helping to catch Bridger and get him to a temporary home at Animal Ark in Reno.

Bridger will stay at the sanctuary for the next seven to eight months and fattened up before he is released back into the wild.
