North Highlands Area Sex Assault Suspect Sought

NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who tried to sexually assault two women.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning near Walerga Road and Galbrath Drive. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says a man armed with a gun walked up to two women in the area and at first tried to rob them.

However, detectives say the man then said he was going to sexually assault the women.

The women able a to get away after a struggle with the suspect. He was last seen running away from the area, police say.

Friday, a sketch of the suspect was released by detectives. He is further described as being a man in his mid-20s, about 5'7'' with a fit build and was wearing a red t-shirt and dark jeans at the time of the attack.
