Napa Wildfire Expected To Be Contained By Saturday Night
NAPA (AP) — Officials say firefighters are getting closer to containing a wildfire that's been burning in a rural area of Napa County since Thursday.
After scorching about 200 acres, Calfire spokesman Daniel Berlant says crews should have the blaze contained by 8 a.m. Saturday.
The fire, which threatened three homes shortly after it was reported a little after noon Thursday, has been burning in an area of steep canyons outside the city of Napa.
Fire investigators are blaming the wildfire on a resident of the area who was burning piles of landscape debris.
Berlant says the resident lost control of the fire when strong winds spread the fire into nearby underbrush.
