Motorist Shot While Driving On Interstate 5 In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A driver was hospitalized after being shot at while driving in Stockton Thursday night.

Stockton Police say the victim was driving northbound on Interstate 5 at Hammer Lane Thursday night when a passing vehicle started shooting shortly after 8 p.m.

The wounded driver drove off the freeway and eventually crashed into an apartment complex parking lot on Kelley Drive, hitting several cars.

The driver had gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.  His wounds did not appear to be life-threatening.

The suspect took off and has not been located.

The shooting is under investigation.
