Missing San Jose Miner's Body Identified In Nevada County
NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) — The body of missing miner Walter Steever was discovered on Wednesday and positively identified on Thursday.
A Nevada County Sheriff's Department spokesperson says 65-year-old Steever of San Jose went to one of his favorite mining spots near South Yuba River, at the end of Owl Creek Road, on Oct. 23 and did not return. His vehicle was found parked in the area.
Steever was due back home over the weekend.
His death does not appear to be suspicious
